Oyster knife
The Laguiole en Aubrac oyster knife allows you to open, present and serve oysters in style. The blade is short and strong. This allows even the most stubborn oyster to be opened with skillful use. Each knife is decorated with the obligatory bee and characterizes the practical tool, in addition to a pretty decoration, with the distinctive mark of the Quälitsschmiede of Laguiole en Aubrac. The knife has the ideal weight (about 140 grams) and is perfectly balanced in the hand. It has an ideally shaped blade, which is used for the so-called French technique of lateral muscle cutting. You insert the knife into the oyster with the tip of the blade on the side of the head, cut through the muscle and then carefully guide the blade along the upper shell towards you (to the "hinge"). After the muscle is cut, the oyster simply opens by itself and is ready to eat. The oyster knife is available in two versions, plain shiny stainless steel or matte with a handle of beautifully reflective oyster shells. Laguiole en Aubrac knives are of the very highest quality. Thanks to centuries of accumulated experience, they create durable, handcrafted tools of unique design.
