The cocotte is a French casserole pot used mainly to prepare dishes such as ragouts, gratins, soups and soufflés. The pot is ideal for this purpose, because the sharp searing and subsequent cooking take place in the same cookware. The black cast iron mini cocotte can be used on all stoves, including induction stoves. The mini cocotte is round and black in color. Cast iron has long been used for casseroles. The special enamel coating of Staub enhances the already existing properties of the material: because cast iron absorbs heat from the stove top very well and retains it for a long time. The heat is then released slowly and steadily. In this way, not only gentle cooking succeeds, but you can also keep the food in the cocotte well warm. Another advantage of enameling is that it enhances the inherent flavor of the food.
